has anyone ever wondered why male veilds have spurs? i know in captivity it helps us identify males from females but do they really serve any purpose in the wild?

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but I have seen my males stroking my females with their spurs when they mate. It is a very gentle, erotic motion. Perhaps it helps calm the female and keeps her submissive. Don't know, but it sure works.
Yes it is a sort of mating massage to assist on exchange of seminal fluids. You should see aquatic snails mate. My wife breeds em and man they can stay connected for days.
