Veiled's toe - Update

I wasn't sure if there's a way to update/edit a previous thread title, but here's a link to my thread about Anarchy's toe - https://www.chameleonforums.com/black-mass-under-veileds-toe-nail-139862/

I've put polysporin on it, and today I noticed the toe nail is gone, as is the black stuff that was on the nail.
He doesn't have a pained reaction when I put the polysporin on, but is there anything I need to be doing different? How often should I put it on?

Of course I still planning on taking him to the vet, but until then... I want to make sure I'm doing whatever I can to improve his little toe.

Couldn't snag a picture today, but if the opportunity arises I'll post one.

From your previous pic I expected he would lose that claw. The Polysporin probably softened the scab and loosened everything up. I would dab a little on the tip of the toe once each day until it looks like its healing cleanly. I don't think you need the vet visit UNLESS his toe is swollen or it looks inflamed. If the nailbed was damaged he probably won't grow a replacement claw but its a bit too early to tell.

You did tell me that, totally called it.

I'm glad you said that because I've been weighing out the pros and cons of taking him to the vet. I think it would be VERY stressful for him, he's not very "friendly". He trusts me enough to hand feed but definitely puts his angry colors on when I polysporin him.
