I went to the reptile super show yesterday on hopes of brining in a crestie home, and I got it at the very first booth! Tonys geckos had great service as I asked to examine at least three geckos before deciding. I was told the sire was a Dalmatian and had great genetics. I was mainly upping for a harlequin so he pointed put this one. ITs 4 mo so I'm insure of sex but I might see a tiny bulge so far. I'll post viv pics in a week because I still have to set it up while s/he is in quarantine for a month. Any crestie experts, let me know what morph it is, I believe it's a harly-dal because there are white a few dots. Here it is!

Excuse the crapy pics, I didn't get many in my canon because my ipad mini was right there.

Congrats on your first crestie! They are like chams though, you will find yourself wanting more! I've seen some of Tony's Geckos posts on facebook, he has some gorgeous geckos! I used to have justone crestie, then I got another that turned out female, and now I have 3 out of their 8 babies still living with me! :D

My best friend want to sell her frog and snake and get a beardie but after seeing my crestie, she wants to get one the opposite sex of mine so we could breed them every once and a while. Would you say breeding is expensive?

Not expensive really no. You will need to bear in mind that each hatchling will require its own small enclosure. Some people house clutch mates together but I won't risk tails and toes being hunted by inquisitive baby cresties! Unless you buy a female that is older and sexed as female, then its pot luck as babies are not easy to sex until about 6 months of age.

Before breeding the female should be at least 2 years old and weigh at least 35g+. Males should also weigh about the same as they can decide not to eat when placed in with a female. He has other things on his mind and eating is not top of his priorities, lol! ;)

The hosing should be easy, I heard that the female only needs to be 14 months and at least 40g. We would each have separate vivs and the one with he female would get the male for a week at the beginning of the month for a few straight months.

Well that's good, some places said to use a reptibator or something I'm just like, I have a closet, is that good enough?:D

Yea I'm using our closet where we keep our female veiled's free range. Placed them right on the clothing rack above her lamps! Kinda makes the heat convenient. ;) I have our veild's eggs up there right beside our cresties too!!! Haha! The thermometer gauge I have on the tupperwares reads 74~76 during the day so I'm sure its no problem. :)

Oh... And as far as keeping them in darkness, they're covered with towels.
