So sorry max:-( such a loss is terrible thing. At least your little ones will brighten your day a little. My thoughts are with you and yours!
 
Im soooooo sorry about chazam!!!!! Sending thoughts and hugs and icecream ur way (theoretical icecream and stuff) i hope you feel better soon! You were a great cham parent! You gave him a great life.

Im so so so so so so so sorry! :( Chazam was a lovely boy and I know he will always be with you in your heart. Fenix and Walker will keep you very busy and very happy. RIP Chazam Rest well! :eek:

I had read that the jury was still out on them as well. For humans it seems to have little affect but in some animals it's very bad. I haven't located a reference to reptiles yet though.

Here is a section from wiki

Some philodendrons are, however, known to be toxic to mice and rats. In one study,[21] 100 mg of Philodendron cordatum leaves suspended in distilled water were fed to six mice. Three of the mice died. The same experiment was done with 100 mg of P. cordatum stems on three mice and none of them died. Leaves and flowers of Philodendron sagittifolium were also orally administered in 100-mg doses to the mice. Three mice were used for each of the leaves and flowers; none of the mice died. A similar experiment was done on rats with the leaves and stems of P. cordatum, but instead of oral administration of the dose, it was injected intraperitoneally using 3 g of plant extract from either the leaves or stems. Six rats were injected with the leaf extract and five of them died. Eight rats were injected with the stem extract and two of them died.

Thank you. Interesting read on the philodendron. If it is in fact toxic, I'm very upset with the safe plant list. Chazam didn't necessarily eat any plants that I was aware of, but other owners with plant eaters could be setup for heartbreak... :(
 
Dang Max, I know I haven't been here long, but I was pretty fond of the little guy. You were the first one to reach out to me when I joined the Forums a few weeks ago, which I really appreciate, and I am sorry this happened to you. I hope you have tremendous success with your panthers.
