Vet over video call?

I am not saying it is definitely Vitamin A deficiency without seeing pics of her. There are other stand outs... Starting with only one eye closing. The not knowing humidity and the going off food. Also the color change. Then you add in the amount of feeders she was eating and the basking temp is being kept at... These two factors increase clutch size drastically.

There is some beta carotene conversion that can happen, this is what Arcadia is meaning by their supplement being a source of A. Although it is a largely debated topic within the hobby as to beta carotene converting to Vitamin A.

Force feeding is not needed when she has only been off food a week. It actually can cause more stress then you want.

Take pics tomorrow of her and the entire enclosure for us.
Thanks. Yes I will send pics of her when she gets up in the morning.

Btw the basking temp is usually lower... we were advised by the vet to keep her temp higher if she was unwell (maybe it was poor advice...)

Urates white? Orange tinge?

You said..."Btw the basking temp is usually lower... we were advised by the vet to keep her temp higher if she was unwell (maybe it was poor advice...)"...they can't get a fever so when they're sick this often helps....if it's from an infection or such.

Yes more orange recently

Still have t really addressed the eye issue enough...but there have been things addressed that needed to be.
Will you be getting a vitamin powder that contains a orEformed source of vitamin A to use twice a month?

Thanks I just replied to you above

You said..."I ordered this on Amazon, coming on Wednesday: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00BY9IMB0?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image"... I've never used repashy so I hope others will chime in.

You said..."Should I try to get her something sooner like tomorrow? I don’t know how much time she has?"...two days shouldn't make a difference.

You said..."I can’t get anything for reptiles sooner than Wednesday. Read some people dose their chams with retinol palymitate from small drops of human supplements? Should I go to the pharmacy tomorrow?"...I don't want to advise you on this since I've never done it.

Ok thanks... it looks like preformed vit a so I hope that’s ok??

so you think it’s better to just wait until her supplements come in on Wednesday?

I don't think it will hurt to wait but I'm not a vet. I might know better if I saw a photo...but I don't want you to wake her up to take one.

Didn't you have Nutrobal with preformed vitamin A in it?

Thanks yes I will send a pic of her when she is up tomorrow morning.
We do have Nutrobal but we’ve been using it on the tortoise instead.. will it have adequate vit a levels for her? I can switch it in for her tomorrow on

You could give it to her tomorrow lightly dusted...and skip any other vitamin powders. Does it have D3 in it?

What kind of turtle do you have?

Yes looks like it does.. online says: Contents per gram 200mg calcium & 150IU vitamin D3, plus vitamins A C E K B1 B2 B6 B12 folic, nicotinic & pantothenic acids, biotin choline niacin and minerals P Na Fe Co I Mn Zn Se Cu.

She’s not eating right now so should I mix it with water and feed via dropper? When I spray her she naturally starts drinking and doesn’t mind the dropper near her (I make sure she can’t see the hand coming at her when I do it)

we have a Herman’s tortoise and he’s been around for over 20 years.. no health problems the whole time so I’ve had to learn a lot for the Cham!

Hermann's turtles are really neat! I've never had them but I've had quite a few others species...hingebacks, three keeled, three toes, ornates, etc.

Have you tried to get her to eat by putting a cricket between her teeth when her mouth is opening and shutting as she drinks?

BTW this is a photo of her enclosure from a bit ago... she’s not in it unfortunately as she was out basking in the natural sun

Yes he’s a fantastic little guy... lots of spunk, loves digging in the garden all summer!

we tried doing that and it seemed to really aggravate her. I’m happy to continue trying with her though

pic of her from the back. Her light hasn’t gone on yet. She’s usually a solid green so that is the spotty colour I mentioned she’s been doing a bit recently.
I will take a pic of her eyes when her light goes on as she’s currently facing away from me

I made an appointment with a second vet but the earliest they could do is Friday morning. Will she be ok until Friday?
