alright well i finally made an appointment for a checkup to the vet. i found this exotic animal hospital about 30 minutes from my house so i made an appointment for friday morning.

i was just wondering how much it would normally cost to fix a broken leg? i have a slight suspicion that my guys leg is broken but im not positive, it could also be some form of MBD. i would post a picture but i dont have a camera to do so.

If his leg is broken I wouldn't wait until Friday, especially if it is MBD. You could end up with more broken bones.

i would go right now if i only had the money, i know im probably going to get crucified by everyone on this website telling me that i shouldnt of gotten a chameleon if i couldnt take care of it, but im doing the best i can.

I dont think anyone has a lot of extra $$ sitting around.. I got crucified too, people telling me I should hitch rides to go to a bigger city to take care of my cham and put myself and 3 kids in danger to do so.. Dont worry about it. You did the first step by making the appt. I would call EVERY day and see if someone canceled and perhaps move it up. See if the vet has a payment plan they can work with you on. Most vets can come up with someone.. Its hard to believe but SOME vets still care about the animal rather than the $$.. Yes, Hard to believe...

I heard that if you suspect MBD it's a good idea to put them in a smaller cage with nothing to climb on so they can't risk falling.

Why do you suspect such thing?
Bowed legs? extra elbows? swelling?

money is the root of all evil. cant live with it, cant live with out it.

and yea actually his front right leg looks to be a little bit "bent", i also noticed his urates were a little yelllow.

well i went to the vet this morning and got some good news. the doctor said biggie looks to be very healthy and for me to keep up the good work. about taking blood or xrays, im going to wait until he gets a little biggere because she said something about him being to small yet to take any blood. the only thing that i figured out i was doing wrong is the dusting part. ive been dusting biggies crickets with calcium WITH d3, i already ordered some without.
