Vitamin D and what it can do for YOU!

As chameleon keepers, we have a significant advantage over the general population
when it comes to knowledge of health.

In the past few years, vitamin D has been shown to be the most effective way
to prevent and treat various illnesses, including cancer.

We are told to stay out of the Sun because it causes skin cancer, however,
for every 1 persons that die from melanoma, 200 die from cancers that could
have been 100% prevented if they got enough Sun exposure.

On top of that, when we are in the Sun, we are told to put sunscreen on,
of which can cause many chronic illnesses because of all the chemicals in it.
If you didn't already know - anything you put on your skin, goes directly into
your bloodstream. This is why Anti-Antiperspirants, which contain aluminum, can
cause Alzheimer's and breast cancer.

Every single ancient culture worshiped the Sun, this is why.

The Sun converts cholesterol (that stuff they tell us is bad), into Vitamin D.

This is something you don't even need to take supplements for, because you make it on your own.

Just like photosynthesis in plants, and just like chameleons make D3 on their own
in UVB radiation.

UVB radiation is what makes it in us, and your skin pigmentation represents how
much Sunlight you need in a day.

Black people have a natural SPF of 50, they need double to triple the amount
of Sun exposure to be completely healthy.

Olive skinned people have a natural SPF of about 20-35, and need double the
amount.

White people have a very low SPF, about 5 or 10, which is eliminated quickly
after Sun exposure, so they only need 45-60 minutes a day.

So take what I've just told you and run with it, go look up Vitamin D for yourself
and see all the studies and benefits and the consequences of not getting enough.

wow thats awesome....I never use sunscreen now this is my excuse haha....also err if antipersperants are bad what would you suggest instead, you cant just go with nothin at all ;)

I believe there is some type of mineral/stone that is a natural anti-perspirant. It doesn't smell all that great, but hippies swear by it (and stink because of it :p). Here's an example of what I am talking about:

I don't normally use sun-screen. Now I have an excuse to never use it. :p

Just as LizardLover said.

Although it may be true that you are taking in "toxins" when you use sunscreen, it does not seem like a good idea to wear nothing at all. Sunburns only heighten your chances of skin cancer, which is very deadly if not detected soon enough. In the end, people die of skin cancer, not Banana Boat...

It certainly wouldn't be wise to never use anything if out and about long enough to give you sun-burns, yes. Especially so in areas with extreme sun exposure.

I was bein' silly in my previous post. :p

Agreed. I never use sun screen but I also haven't had a sun burn in years. I just limit my time in the sun.

lol I'm going to go around ripping out all the lights in my house and buy floro fixtures and reptisuns.

As for the deo for me BO..well you guys can come comfort me when I come down with breast cancer and can't remember to pull up my pants.

LOL Well you can use deodorant, that's what I use and I've never had BO. I usually use the Polo Blue or Ed Hardy Love & Luck. It's worth it to pay the extra money for, and it's not too expensive online.

Anyways about sunburns, yeah, sunburns are bad. I shoulda said that sunburns
can be detrimental to your health, they actually deplete your body of anti-oxidants.

So sunburns can not just only cause skin cancer, but they can cause other illnesses
associated with a lack of anti-oxidants.

The rule of thumb is to stick on a good, non-toxic, organic if you can, sunscreen
when your skin starts to turn the slightest shade of PINK. That's if you are going
to be out in the Sun all day.

However, you should still get at least 30 mins of direct Sun every day of your life
without sunscreen, and without sunglasses, or a hat, etc etc.

I never use sunscreen.. skin cancer runs in the family. T_T

I just don't like the feel, and some kinds make me itchy.

I get 30mins of sun a day during passing periods between class..

Hey Brock, where did you find this info? I was telling my boyfriend about it yesterday, and he doesn't believe it, so now it's my duty to prove it to him. :p
