Vitamins and Calcium help

I am a new chameleon owner and have a female veiled chameleon. She is about 5 months old by my estimation from her size. I have been feeding her about 10 crickets every other day. But, I have been doing a bunch of reading and seen that I should be offering her other types of feed such as mealworms. I was wondering how often I should feed her mealworms and or crickets and whats the best way to feed her the worms. And also I have seen several different things on how often I should be dusting her crickets with calcium and a vitamin. Any input would be great. Thanks!

Variety is the spice of life... Avoid mealworms, their hard shell can cause digestive problems... Superworms are a great alternative along with horn and silk worms... Worms tend to be higher in fat so they should make up less of your chams diet... Crickets and roaches being your staple feeders... All of your feeders need to be properly gut loaded... I believe the general consensus on a good supplement schedule is calcium w/o D3 at almost every feeding... Calcium with D3 twice a month and multivitamin twice a month... This site has an abundance of excellent information and people... I would suggest giving the general care sheets and nutrition pages a read... Hope this helps... Cheers...

yeah that helps a lot! Thank you! Whats the best way to feed the superworms? Do I try to hand feed her? Which I haven't done. I just feed the crickets right in her enclosure. So what would be the best way to feed the superworms. Thanks!

I like to feed superworms in a cup. Superworms like to bury themselves so in a cup is best or you could do it off your hand. Hornworms I put on the side of the cage and let them crawl around.

Do you just hang the cup from a branch? Or just put it at the bottom of the cage? And how big of a cup would you say? Thanks for the info!

You can use any size cup or food bowl. I put it in different spots to change things up for my cham.
