I have finaly finished my costum enclosure witch i'm really proud of. I've picked up my cham 2 weeks ago. He's an Ambilobe blue bar, I,ve named him Vlad because of the band Kasabian and the song "Vlad the Impaler". Right now he is 13 weeks old and this enclosure is to big for him, so he is in a 16"x16"x20"h. Éventualy i will buy some other live plants because it's prety empty for now. All opinion and tips are welcome.

There is more picture in my album

I LOVE IT! It has a neat retro look and the way you have hidden all the working stuff is great...good job.

Amazing enclosure! I love everything psychedelic and it's delightfull to see that your terrarium is original looking. Your design is strong as hell and practical too, I bet. The plant's can't be seen very clearly from the pictures, but I agree on putting some more in later on.

nice job

Looks great, lots of care put in it. Reminds me of my husbands saltwater reef tank encloser, but in chameleon form.

nice enclosure! pretty sweet. i'm putting up pics now of mine that i just finished today too. it's just a modified antique bird cage though. nothing like yours! was this something that you modifed or built from ground up? it looks like it could have once been a stereo cabinet or something? great job either way. love the mod retro vibe. very chic!

is that a DIY cage?

Yes it's actually a DIY cage, i've tough that they were strong in addition to be great looking, but the lock on my smalest cage have break after just 1 week of use, so i will be very carefull with my bigest enclosure. I will try to ask if they can send me replacing parts.. Right now i have to use small wire to keep it close.... :(

I've build it from ground up. I'm working in a millwork shop, i'm designing commercial furniture, and my boss gave me the permission to work in the shop to build my enclosure. I've made all the plans, the CNC's programs (for the circle, cable, hinges, slides...), the paint, etc.

Well, the obvious next step is to stop making furniture & start making cham. chages!!!! Great job! Looks fantastic!

Was wondering, what material did you use at the bottom of the cage? Do you have a drain system of any kind?

For the drainage i've made a acrylic pan with a shower drain that you can see on pics 2 and 3. The drain is above the bucket in the back of pics 2 and the bucket in the front is for the mistking system.

Everything with the circles (the drawer face, doors and back culumn) are made of 1/2" & 5/8" MDF wich i've spray painted orange and paint the other colors with a brush and put an 1/8" frosted acrilyc in front of it. Everything else is made of 5/8" white melamine, and frames made of brushed aluminium.
