Waking up too early?

Hey everyone. I am a very new chameleon owner, and I have a question for you My Panther's lights go out at 8 pm, and he goes to bed very quick afterwards. Lights go back on at 8 am, however, my husband goes to work at 5:30 am, and he is wide awake. Is this something to be concerned about? Is it normal to sleep that little? Thanks for your time...

Is it light outside or does your husband have the lights on in the chameleon's room at 5:30 am?

Nope... he keeps the lights off completely as he knows it needs to be dark, however it is light enough for him to see he is awake...we are in a basement, so there is no light in the area...
