Yes, he is correct. But, he can use his words in a more professional way. He should put in a way where people want to listen to him IMO and not a way where it comes out rude.He is not starting a fight, he didn't insult anyone. He is saying what he believes through his experience is right.
40% humidity is good for during the day. At night 80-100%.I sincerely apologize for all I am doing wrong and how I need to prioritize, again. My question is, if I lower humidity to like 40 percent in the day, will a fogger be needed, or can I make do with a mistking misting before lights on, and after. On this schedule, and bc of where we live, humidity at night still goes up pretty high at night, soooooo...
I just UGHHH!!!!!40% humidity is good for during the day. At night 80-100%.
I don't have a fogger... I just spray lots of fine mist at night.I sincerely apologize for all I am doing wrong and how I need to prioritize, again. Mist late in the day or in the morning before lights are on. It is ok. honey what is your ambient humidity level in the day?I will mist late in the day!! I’m working with what I have!!! I’ll get a good dehumidifier, ok? Sorry!
Ehhh not in this one he wasn't. I actually thought his post was very thoughtful and kind. Its okay. @PetNcs likes to start fights in threads.
Lately it’s way too high, 60-70 percent. Because it’s been really foggy and rainy, otherwise it is like 50-60 which is still to high, I know.Mist late in the day or in the morning before lights are on. It is ok. honey what is your ambient humidity level in the day?
That’s exactly what I thought too. At least for the most part.Ehhh not in this one he wasn't. I actually thought his post was very thoughtful and kind.
So not everyone runs dehumidifiers. I have talked about this so much because I am a worrier over humidity during the day and run one. I can not get mine down below 45% and that is a good day with sun. If it is rainy I am lucky to get it to 55% during the day. People in florida have really high humidity as well. They are not buying dehumidifiers left and right.Lately it’s way too high, 60-70 percent. Because it’s been really foggy and rainy, otherwise it is like 50-60 which is still to high, I know.
I just don’t know which way is best for me. And then I get all confused and think I’m doing it the wrong way when someone else says to do it differently. ?So not everyone runs dehumidifiers. So if you have a higher humidity you can do things to help without getting a dehumidifier. Your basking lamp should be on reduced hours anyways. A few hours during the day is plenty for him to bask and digest. So lets just say 10-1pm for example and no hotter then 80ish max. So then your misting in the morning prior to the T5 coming on. Then in the evening when your cage temps have dropped further.
So his lights are off and you have opened your windows to get some cooler humid air in the room mist then.
I want to add due to all the different home environments we deal with in the USA everyone is going to have different things to deal with. I happen to have extremely high humidity like you. 80% at night without doing anything. I have stopped fogging because of this and have not seen a difference at all in urates for hydration.
It is really hard because there is not a one size fits all approach but there very much is a right way and a wrong way to do things. It is taking info that people like Petr put out there and fitting it to the best of your ability to your environment.
I would be happy to mentor you if you like. I have been impressed by your eagerness to learn. Some of our young keepers here have mentors and I think it really can help. We can go over everything and you can then have someone to lean on if you get confused. Just let me know hun.I just don’t know which way is best for me. Ok! Cool, I will, and thanks for all your help. I just want him to be healthy and have a good life.I would be happy to mentor you if you like. I have been impressed by your eagerness to learn. It is not my intention at allIts okay. @PetNcs likes to start fights in threads.
A fogger if used just for a covered cGe will not increase the humidity in your room...I feel so conflicted here because I could get a fogger, a 200 dollar dehumidifier, and a Mistking and something to cover the cage with while I fogged in the night, but then it would be so humid in my room and... bleh!! I almost feel like it wouldn’t make sense, just because he is perfectly hydrated and seems to be perfectly healthy, so why change that? I would have to change the whole environment from how it is, troubleshoot a bunch of new problems, and spend a bunch of money (that IMO might be better spent on something else for him) just for the same results? The only benefit being it’s in a supposedly more naturalistic way? I might just not understand and in that case, please inform me WHY I’m wrong, other than the fact that “it’s only a matter of time.” I just have many other things I would like to spend my money on for him, and I need to prioritize. I don’t have an unlimited supply of money.
My apologies. In previous threads you’ve been a bit aggressive with others which later turned into an argument. In this particular thread you did use your words wisely. It is not my intention at all

Do you speak aboutI clearly recall him saying that your cham will die if you continue this, not that it is not "naturalistic" enough in his opinion... I personally would see a live cham as quite a big benefit.
