Want to get another reptile

my husband is convinced a snake will spend all its time trying to get out then crawl in to bed wrap itself around him and constrict.

Hahaha men can be such WIMPS! A ball python couldn't choke a person, they are too small, plus the fact that they would never try to harm anyone ever :p but they do give the best hugs! They sell cage clips to keep the lid secure if that helps him sleep at night

I GO WITH THIS ALL THE WAY. THEY SWIM CLIMB AND ARE FUN TO WATCH AND HANDLE. Or an anole. They are friendly and you can have multiple individuals in one terrarium.

I love anoles! I think my first lizard was an anole(besides the blue bellies I used to catch as a kid). I do like water dragons! I actually recently saw a bassalisk for sale. Kind of surprised me. Saw a flying lizard too! I did not realize they were traded.

My sister has anoles.. i hate them. I think they're fairly lame as far as reptiles go. Water dragons are sweet though.

I dunno. I held a couple pythons last night...... all I have to say is I like snakes!

Heh heh..... I used to scare my grandma with my anole. I asked her if she wanted to hold it one day, she said no because it was green and that bothered her. I think her exact words were "if it were brown or something that might be another story". So I went out and held it in the sun until it turned brown. Went back in and said "alright, hes brown now, here you go!" She was rather surprised!

i always tell him he's crazy but i guess its just how he is. I told him its not fair to our son, he shouldn't have to go with out a pet he really wants ( he's been asking for 3 yrs ) just cause he has issues with snakes

thats a beautiful snake. the first snake my son wanted was an anaconda... he seen a pic online of a little boy sitting in the middle of this huge snakes coils thought that was great.

I recommend the leopard gecko i love mine because he is beautiful and has a great personality i love how when he was little he was clumsy hunting but as he gets older he becomes a master hunter LOL :) and he is also really sweet i think a leopard gecko would make a great reptile for a 2 year old

Beardies actually cost WAY more to feed than a ball python :p My ball python costs me $6 a month to feed, where as a beardie needs not only insects everyday but fresh fruits and veggies as well, which can get pricey.

Guess it depends what you have - insects and lots of produce is essentially free for me, since I breed bugs for the cham and have a garden/already provide produce to the bugs, so I'd only be buying fruit I cant grow and a bit of veg maybe in the winter (which I buy anyways). i dont keep mice, so.... :)

Haha yeah well I am trying to grow a garden so hopefully that feeder expense will diminish, but I don't breed the rodents for ehr I but them frozen and thaw them out. I am allergic to mice and rats so I couldn't even if I wanted to.

Could not agree more. Im a couple weeks away from mine myself. So cute, so many gorgeous colours and such awesome personalities!

Just another vote for bearded dragons...they are easy to care for and sooooo entertaining with their head bobbing antics etc. Very much like dogs in personality in my opinion. And some of their colors are just stunning. I've had a few of them and they were just a hoot. I think most children can handle them just fine, and your daughter sounds like she's been raised to be especially respectful so a BD would be a perfect fit if you ask me.:D
