Warning!!! Do not search!!

No, don't install AVG. It leaves huge files on your computer, and will often miss important files that have viruses, or mistake important files for viruses.

Err, Virii.

Haha not for me it works awsome and with the housecall it is amazing. My buddy that builds websites uses this and some others and he has never gotten a virus.

I'm sure he's never gotten a virus, but I bet the amount of space wasted with AVG is just pitiful.

Not only is this wrong, it's grossly misinformed.

AVG is taking up mere MBs for me. Perhaps it is only for advanced users.
Avast is pretty b tier as far as malware scanners go.

I am talking on personal experience. If I still had my old laptop that I used AVG on I would show you the reports...
NO, I'm not talking about AVG itself but the packets and extra downloads.. updates.. etc etc..

No matter this isn't a chat about virus scanners. Ta-ta.

The only way it would take up GIGS of space, as claimed is if it had to quarantine GIGS of space.

That would only be the case if your computer was seriously infected in the first place due to user error.

Thought I'd throw my PERSONAL experience, backed by, you know, knowledge.

Brye, what good is anti everything if you don't remember to turn it back on. duh :p

Sorry SYN, I'm going to have to disagree with you. I started using AVG about 8 yrs ago when the hospital I worked for got a worm on their network. Nothing and I mean NOTHING but AVG could find it and destroy it. AVG is the best free antibug/firewall there is. Well I haven't honestly shopped around since then as I've never ever had a problem since using it. So 8 yrs of pretty much constant web surfing and to date not one virus thanks to AVG. *Knocks on wood*

Also when on the net a little common sense goes a long way.
