water absorption

I hand mist and use a little dripper to water my cham and the potted plants in its enclousure but with all that moisture alot of it ends up on the bottom on the cage on the pvc flooring. is there anything that i can use to absorb the excess water so that it doesnt smell or need to be cleaned up every day? can I use a dish or tray filled with something to absorb it like moss or organic dirt which will cause it to evaporate later?
 
I use a smallish plastic box covered with screen and empty it daily, then mop up excess water with a towel... the box usually catches most of the water though...:cool:
 
If you perform a search on the forums there are a number of threads that people have started regarding making a drainage system. It kind of depends on the type of setup you have. There are some options out there. As far as something absorbing it, you start to run into molding issues.
The route I went was installing a small hole/drain to connect a piece of tubing that leads to a bucket. It works great for my situation.
