I am having a difficult time finding the best water dripping system for myour chameleon.... I have the little dripper from zoo meds. but I can't seem to get it to stay on long enough... it either doesn't drip at all or is pouring out. I also have a fogger. But it doesn't create enough moisture to make a drop. I'm hoping to find a better system. Any advice would be great!

You are misting right? Get a mistking, its an automatic mister. And drippers are easy to make, get any size tub, put a hole in it, go to your local hardware store, and get a little needle valve and some hose to put on the end of it. There you go, homemade dripper.

I mist with the spray mister bottle. is the mistking just the valves? or is it a whole system?
You can get the mistking starter kit for about $150, it comes with everything you need to use it except for the container that stores the water.

Just go to Home depot or lowes and go to their irrigation/sprinkler isle usually near plumbing and just pick up some 1/4inch hose and some 1/4inch T connectors and a flow control valve and silicone it into whatever container you want. Cost me like 8 bucks.

Thank you!

Zoomeds little dripper valve is difficult to adjust properly. I'm going to replace mine with HD's valves. Hopefully, it'll be an improvement.

I stopped using drippers years ago because I was fed up trying to regulate them. Foggers are great for raising humidity, but you would have to run one 24/7 to get enough condensation to form larger droplets. Hand misting, lots of plants to catch and hold droplets, and a fogger cycling on and off can work together if you don't have a misting system.

Chameleons are prone to get a respiratory infection when you use foggers/humidifiers.. I advise against them.

Only if you don't manage them properly. Infections are also less likely if the bacteria load in your enclosure is kept low. I have used foggers/humidifiers for most of my chams depending on how dry the local climate happened to be. I have only lost one cham to a respiratory infection and that was a recent import with other health problems.

Climist is the exact same high quality mist system for cheaper than Mistking they will ship free 2 day shipping well worth the money there really is not a good "dripper option" they all are unreliable. It will come with a pump, plenty of hosing for 2 cages if needed, and 1 mist nozzle, and a timer plug-in so will mist king. It definitely beats a dripper or spraying a ton. All you need to buy is a water reservoir (5 gal bucket)

Depending on how much you spend in water each month the Climist will use less water than a spray bottle over the long run and possibly save you from buying a ton of distilled or RO water.

I'm also in the market for a misting system and have been thinking about the Climist ($109 for a starter kit). I'm still searching in the archive for good comparison between Mistking and Climist system. So far I haven't found any. I will probably go with the Climist system, but I just have to factor the associated risk into the decision making process.

In leiu of an expensive drip system, ice cubes work really well for me. I put a bunch of pin holes in the bottom of a solo cup while I was tweaking a little dripper and put ice in it to melt, and it works just as well as my Iittle dripper or the system I built from home depot.

Ive ran my climist for two different setups for about 6 months now it works great it is exactly the same thing as mistkings starter kit plus the guy that runs the company is very nice great customer service. The only thing that may differ is the timer but i love the climist timer it works great and is easy to set and the mistking timer seems to give people trouble all the time.

Yes thank you guys! I was in Colorado this weekend and went to a pet store and they had the bio bubble retire drinking fountain. Which I thought was interesting because I've been told the waterfall kind of stuff is bad because it produces bacteria.. just wondering if the bio bubble would be okay. If the maintenance is kept up on it

I have one but only used it for a short time. The tubing builds mold fast and there really isn't a good way to lean it that I found. And having to change out the water and rinse the whole thing every other day just wasn't worth it I'm my opinion.
