Water supply?

Sorry if this is an old question, but I didn't see any prior posts on the subject...

What would anybody recommend as a water source for chameleons? Do you just use tap water, or distilled water? Is there any treatment required for the water?

Also, what about warm/hot water for dripping or misting?

Many thanks for any recommendations ;)

i use tap water for drinking for a while and so far no problem.
i think some area has a very hard water.. if that's the case, you might want to dechlorinate it or use filtered water.

and hot water inside the mister so when it came out in mist it will be warm.

Thanks!

I don't live in a hard water area, but the water is chlorinated. Should I dechlorinate it?

Also, for hot water, do you boil cold tap water or use hot tap water?

Tap water should be fine.
I usually start with very warm to hot water in the morning when I do the first mist and fill the dripper. By the time the second misting happens, the water in my sprayer has cooled to room temperature, as has the water in the dripper.
Avoid water that is colder than room temp for misting or dripping.

edit: (adding details) dechlorinizing is not necessary, hot from the tap, boiling is not necessary.

thanks!

We're just about to get everything set up today and tomorrow, and then monitor temp and humidity for a few days. Looking to actually acquire a few month old veiled chameleon next weekend...

Has anyone had problems with drippers?
I bought and got rid off 3 drippers due to poor water dripping. It drips too much water or none at all.
