watery feces

With the additional time the HERP MIST system has allowed me, I have been able to sit and watch the chams more and observe. What I have noticed is that My male has been having very watery fecal deposits. I mean there is an fairly large fluid deposit with the regular feces.

Should I start to worry or is this normal...

The misting system has been in for about a week and a half. could this make that much of a diff?

Chams behavior has been normal, in fact better since getting more normal hydration and I can concentrate of food wrangling rather than exercising my hand misting the guys.

What do you all think?

• Current Problem – high content of water in droppings

He has a solid brown part and white urates. I have been feeding silkies latel along with crickets.

will the higher water content in silkies cause this?

Also if there were going to be problems, what would be things to watch out for?

in my brief experience, the more silkies i feed the more runny his fecals are.

I agree. My oldest panther eats a lot of hornworms and his urates are runny and sometimes the "Brown" is as well.

I have asked others and they do not think it is a problem. You can try cutting out the silkies for a few days to see if there is a change.

My experience is the water content in the worms cause this. maybe even fat / protein. You can always have a fecal done to rule anything out. If the Cham appears healthy and you get white/brown and a little runny it should be fine.

Thanks ... good info ...

I just started to get into silkworms, I currently have Hundreds of them running about in a tupper ware...It's just crazy right now with silkies.

Thanks again

what does it mean if you have solid feces but runny urates?

My 7 month old panther has that. I have asked around and it is mostly agreed that it is the excess moisture level in worms or excess fat from wax worms and is nothing to be worried about. If you are concerned a fecal may rule out any problems.

Cutting back on the worms solidified his urates but he is back on the horn worms and doing it again.
