I’m adopting a leopard gecko from someone who no longer has the time to care for him. I’m wondering if it will be ok to have the geckos terrarium in sight of my chameleons? For example across the room maybe or on the side. I don’t want to stress out my guys and this is the first different reptile in the house.
I’m super excited btw, I’ll definitely share pics when he arrives. Supposed to be tomorrow.

I honestly haven’t had much concern about my chameleons seeing them. I have the gecko enclosures on the bottom shelf and chameleon enclosure above on the top. With multiples of both though, they probably can see across the room. However, they do have completely different schedules and during the day all of my geckos are tucked into their hides having their sweet dreams. They come out usually after the chameleons have all tucked themselves in for their beauty sleep. The only time and animal which caused a disturbance for one of my chams was when I moved one of my beardie’s enclosures and hadn’t yet figured out a visual barrier. My poor little panther girl was seemingly frozen on the same branch, staring at the bearded weirdo until I blocked the view.

I found all of mine off of Craig’s List and 3 out of 4 were more like rescues from bad care. The 1 which had good care hasn’t been handled and I was told he bites. He only got me once and it was more of a food response. I have made some attempt at getting him used to some handling, but he really doesn’t like it so I just respect that now. If I had more time, space and money, I’d fill an entire room with nothing but leopard geckos rescues. Here’s my little gang.

That is one thing I can’t wait to see, his little personality. I can definitely see myself heading in the you can’t only have (eat just one) direction.
