We don't get along

Hi i'm becomming a bit worried as some times my veiled really hates me as if i go any where near him hell lunge hiss etc but i have to be near him to mist and clean etc (He lets me hand feed but is very cautious) I'm becomming worried because if I cause him too much stress I don't want anything to happen to him, does anybody have any ideas of how I can sort of calm him down and let him know im not a threat?

My female veiled is pretty much the same way, but what i've done in the past was put a t-shirt over my hand when handling her. if she can't see my hand she doesn't feel threatened.

keep in mind though, in nature chameleons are pretty much dependant on their ability to diffuse into the background. Anything larger than them that comes near them will cause them to instinctively want to defend themselves to preserve their life. It's not you, many chameleons just plain hate being handled or coming into close contact with humans or anything much larger than them that moves in general.

Don't worry about it. I got my male out once (YES ONCE) all by myself and while I took his picture he opened his mouth, hissed and lunged at me, scared me senceless.

From what I learned, it means he's in good spirits

My chameleons HATE when I go into their cages, they normally move to the top right corner of the cage until 10-15 minutes after I closed it back up.

Soon enough your chameleon should get used to it and deal with it in his own way. I don't think it will stress him too much
