We made it through Hurricane/ Tornado warnings!

Well.. If we haven't been though enough already lately.. my poor Diego! Good news is we live in South Jersey and made it through Irene :). I literally at one point, due to possible tornado touch down reported about 1 block away from us and possible others throughout our county, woke Diego up and put him in his portable cage, then we all went down to the basement. My family, our two dogs and Diego hung down there til it went from warning :( and possible touch downs  to a watch and seemed to have moved along but we remained under a tornado watch until early morning so I stayed awake and alert. Good thing we were well prepared and planned ahead. I had it all ready to go. We lost power from 830pm until 730am, good thing we had the generator to get us through the outage. Although that power outage didn't affect Diego much due to the time of it, it was great for us to have power, and I was prepared just in case ;). What a HUGE relief that Irene didn't bring what was expected. I'm soooo tired but even more relieved! Did anyone else on the East coast go through anything similar and wanna share what happen with them?

Good news to hear! Glad you weathered the storm. I was without power for 8 days through one hurricane and three weeks with another. You do not realize all the little things you take for granted that run on electricity!!!!

Glad you're ok! Us Floridians are grateful it didn't come this way. I had everything ready for it, but each storm is different and you never know what can happen.

You are the first to report in on the forum. I have had a couple pm's and it sounds like it was not as bad as expected. Great news hope all our friends came out ok.

No offence you guys, but I'm glad I don't live in your country...........might rain a bit here but give me a temperate climate any day........nice to know the chams are still being looked after though :)

I was watching CNN footage of the flooding your way, that is terrible to see creeks turned to torrent rivers. Good you made it Dawniegirl, and I hope averyone else made it too.

Up here in CT the storms passed, been without power since around 6:50am so were passed the 12 hour mark, trees down everywhere, our little streams are huge rivers, no power in sight for at least 1 or 2 more days considering the power lines down around my area, luckily my chameleon hanging in there. Don't mind no Internet or direct tv just wish the showers worked and the lights for his cage.. Thank god for smart phones though, only thing keeping me sane. Hope everyone else is doing good!

How did your Cham make out w/o the power? Hope you are well through the Hurricane aftermath by now and all is okay!!! My cell saved me from going insane too when I didn't have the gen running.. don't think most of could live with out a cell nowadays ;).

Hey, I live in north jersey and nothing really happened. It rained a lot and a few trees fell, but nothing was damaged. Just sucks having to pay money to get trees removed.
