Wedging sticks in cage

Hi, I've seen pics of people wedging bamboo and sticks between the sides of a metal mesh cage. How is this done? Does it damage the cage? Is it stable for the Cham to sit on?

Thx

no, they are not always stable. They might make indentations on the screen if they are wedged in too tightly. I take push pins and attach them to the stick on the outside of the screen. Works great!!

I do the same and it is a really great solution!

Good idea! Do you use your own sticks or do you buy bamboo/ sterilised wood?

I use my own sticks from a tree in my front yard. I just check for bugs, wash with soapy water and dry. I do not bake mine in the oven. In my opinion it is not necessary, but I know that some people do! some people use doll rods also. They are cheap and you can get them at home depot.

Be sure if you use dowels that you use 2 push pins or your dowel will spin around and your cham will end upside down. LOL. I learned the hard way and so did my chammy.
