Weekend Pics: Jann's Padre, Azura, and New Gecko

Had a really fun day yesterday, I went down to West Palm to the Repticon with the boyfriend and then stopped by JannB's house to see her and her animals. Nice seeing you again Jann! Then my little female, Azura, is receptive I think so she's been really bright pink the last few days. Didn't quite catch her at her brightest, but her lateral line was suuuper pink.

Here's my show pick-up from yesterday. A little female Standing's Day gecko, who I'm so excited to have. I miss geckos, but have been looking at diurnal geckos for a while now. Her name is Ophelia.

Olimpia you have got the Parsonii glow! I hope some of the clutches that were produced this year hatch to allow all of us to see that kind of glow more often (especially here in the USA).

Thanks! Yea, it was so neat, he's got such large feet that he barely grips you. He definitely didn't feel like I expected! And heavy too!

Haha I suppose I do! That would be great, they're spectacular chameleons. It would be nice to think that Padre isn't going to be the only one I see in person in my lifetime.

It was alright, not a super awesome show but we had fun. That's Padre, he's a Parson's chameleon and they can get even bigger than him, apparently.

Padre is a very impressive boy and Jann you've done and continue to do an amazing with him and all of your chams! I do hope that one day I get to see a parson's in person in my lifetime.

Opehlia is such a cutie! How tame are the day geckos? Would you compare their temperaments to say a leopard gecko?

Azura is a very beautiful girl, have you had any thoughts on breeding her?

Padre is still a growing boy. He's 2 1/2 years old and will grow for a couple more years. He weighs 550 grams and I know one parson's keep that has one over 900 grams.

Thank you! Well, she bit me yesterday lol I don't know yet, ask me again in a few weeks when I've had a little time to work with her. She's more skiddish than my leopard geckos, but she had a stressful day yesterday so I can't blame her. She is way more active in her tank though, which is nice. I love the nocturnal geckos but I was tired of having a pet I never see.

Maaaybe, I may breed Azura to Daedalus at some point but not for a while. If I do it I'd like to coordinate the hatching to a time when I'm out of college.

I had no idea Padre was THAT big and still growing.He is simply Gorgeous!

Olimpia you little ones are also very pretty Love the pink and I say little cause after Padre everything else is dwarfed...

I think I remember you walking by. My wife and I had the Ambilobies and Leopard geckos at D&T Reptiles. I can believe how big Padre is he is a gorgeous chameleon. Azura is a nice looking cham as well but I have a soft spot for the girls they always seem to have a nicer personality.

Kerrek, you probably saw me a couple times! We walked by all the chameleons a couple times, at least. Thanks! Yea, I'm liking the females a lot as well. I can't believe it's taken me this long to have one.

Holy cow! that guy is huge, and i cant believe there is one almost double that weight! geez, hes so cool. If they werent so hard to find/ keep/ and so expensive, I would think about getting one in a few years.
