so ive put on more weight over the past year and christmas than i would have liked to and was suddenly smacked in the face with a vacation to florida in march...in order to look halfway decent in a bikini, 20 pounds need off...in 6 weeks...ive been trying to base my current diet off the michael thermon 6 week total body makeover which my mom has tried and lost 30 pounds on it..it involves no sugar, no salt, no bread, no dairy, no red meat...all protein, fruits and veggies...ive been trying my go at this along with going to the gym. ive been eating all that i can, but its hard to get more than 800 calories a day with such low calorie foods! as of this week i lost 2 pounds...i know its a start, but if 20 pounds is to come off by march, it needs to be more than 2 a week. i know going less than 1200 calories a day is unhealthy, but i want the weight off asap, im young, ill worry about health later.

on the other note, my mom is currently on the hcg diet, which is hormone based..and super expensive. i am so depressed right now, i get 2 pounds, and she gets 6 off her first week? im working my butt off and shes doing nothing....all because i cant afford a couple hundred dollar hormone...

Just cutting carbs alone should've shed 3-8lbs in the 1st week. Unless you have no weight to lose.

I don't see the need to eliminate foods when trying to lose weight. It is about moderation. You can either eat less, exercise more, or do both and lose it in half the time. I have been able to maintain a weight window from 135-175 (currently 145-150) since the 90's and still fit my dress uniform from Army basic training in '88. I eat whatever I want whenever I want, but I am ALWAYS hungry. Stick with snacking throughout the day and avoid large meals and fast food.

2 P ounds. Its a start. If its worth doing its worth doing properly. This is what its about It is about moderation. You can either eat less, exercise more, or do both and lose it in half the time.
Also, much more important is your health. cant make you worry about that. young and foolish you are :D
You would look better than half decent in a bikini now. Try it in the mirror. Ask the nearest male.
Jealous of your Mom? She would think thats pretty funny.

i would try on a bikini in the mirror...cept the fact that none of them fit! D: i am eating much less and adding some exercise...

Remeber that different people have different metabolisms, so don't be discouraged. And those weight loss supplements usually only work as long as you keep taking them, and when you stop you gain it all back.

But don't stress yourself too much about losing weight. I hate to see a young girl get so stressed about it. My mom always reminds me of how thin I was when I was doing high school dance, at 110lbs vs. The 130lbs I'm at now and I'm always like, yea, I was 16 lol I've also grown a couple inches in height and have gotten my big-girl hips too, it's called growing up. I could lose a little bit but it's not worth freaking out about.

Eat healthy, continue to excercise and it'll happen. Just don't be too hard on yourself if you don't reach your goal, as 6 weeks isn't very long.

I have always struggled with my weight, but I'm at my all-time heaviest right now. I am doing a combination of diet and exercise. I work at a sedentary job, so on my lunch I use the Zombies, Run! app and get my exercise that way. It's hard, because I'm such a foodie, but I remind myself that nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels.

-.- 130 is my goal weight...and im 5 ft. if i weighed 110, id be the happiest person alive..but ill never see that.

im extremely self conscious, ive never felt comfortable in a swimsuit, id prefer not to swim or go to the beach at all than wear a swimsuit in public. im really tired of being that self conscious...if i dont lose 20 pounds by vacation and look halfway decent, i will be miserable. which will probably end up in me just binge eating and gaining all that i lost, back. if i can get 20 off by vacation, i will have enough confidence to make the lifestyle changes to stay there...but if not, a humiliating vacation will make me lose confidence and motivation.

Don't feel bad about your weight. I have a great body (toot toot:D), but I have not felt comfortable or been in a bathing suit more than a dozen times for 15 years or more. I have psoriasis and that makes me very self conscious and even makes "adult" relationships and intimacy very hard for me. "I know how I feel about it, how must they?". It is easy to say be comfortable with yourself. This skin condition really gives a whole new meaning to being "uncomfortable in your own skin". Maybe that's why I got into chameleons. We can be shedding buddies.:D You gotta laugh, because crying is no fun.:)
Good luck

See, THAT's what I don't want a young, sweet girl like yourself to be feeling! My mom says that stuff to me but she suffered with anorexia when she was my age, and she's never quite recovered 100% so she is always very concerned about the weight of her girls, and it's always something my sister and I have to deal with. So it makes me nervous when girls are that worried about their weight because I've seen what it does to a person, even 30 years later.

If you're too worried about being in a bikini, find a cute one-piece bathing suit, maybe even a vintage-theme one with a little skirt. (For example: http://www.modcloth.com/shop/onepiece-swimwear/pelagic-gal-two-piece-in-plus-size or http://www.modcloth.com/shop/onepiece-swimwear/beauty-on-the-shore-one-piece-in-stripes perhaps?) No one says you have to be in a bikini, it's not beach law lol. Use prints and colors to your advantage, clothing can do miracles of hiding/distracting from areas you're not happy with.

If you think you're going to be so miserable all vacation that you won't be able to have fun then we have to figure out ways around your fears and insecurities. It's not healthy to be so unhappy that you do more harm to yourself by binge eating. Ok? We do care about you, I don't want to hear you be this unhappy with yourself.

I also really want you to try a change of mind-set. Other people will be very hard on you throughout your life, you don't have to be one of them! So instead of being disappointed that you lost 2 pounds, congratulate yourself that you lost 2 pounds and reward yourself with something. Like a new CD you've been wanting, a movie you've been dying to see, etc. Try to work WITH yourself, not against.

Yes, make things easier for yourself. Think positive.
