Kraid the veiled cham is almost finished shedding just his casque is left and these weird green wax looking bump things showed up on his spine it looks like clear green wax he wont let me touch it to see the texture either he doesn't have sunkn eyes or wobbliness its like he doesn't even notice their there
here is some info bout him
sex=male
age= bout 1 year 4months
cage= aluminum screen 24x24x48
plant=hibiscus
light=5.0 tropical uvb strip light
heat= 75 watt basking light
light timing= the uvb light from 6am-8pm the heat 6am-midnight cause its cold
area= in the tropical room near a large window we open for him from time to time there is also a Tokay Gecko, and 2 crested Geckos (in different enclosures) in the same room but far enough away not to stress him out
feeders= gutloaded on flukers cricket food and monkey biscuits also apples and greens here and there
vitamins= rep cal calcium, herpivite
feedings= every 3 days dusted with calcium first, then herpivite, then undusted trading off in that manner sometimes I will skip herpivite because of the d3
misting= we use spring water about 3-4 times a day he refuses to drink from his little dripper anymore so if he looks thirsty (standing on the highest vine staring at us intently) we spray him extra because he drinks from the ceiling.
cage cleaning= about every two weeks a full clean and every two days the bottom is cleared of debris and poo
activity= very active climbs everywhere constantly stopping here and there to nap before hes off again
sleeping habits= he normally goes to his sleeping spot around 11pm and starts waking up around 730 am

Best thing I can suggest is to have a vet look at it...could be a burn or it could be some type of infection.

Yeah it looks like after-sunburn blisters, and what's up with his casque? It's kinda cute...

Is your lighting inside or outside the cage?

Has he been outside in the direct sunlight or does he free range at all where he could possibly climbed onto the lights?

Hello

This doesnt look like any kind of burn I have personaly experienced or seen before. I guess I would go with some kind infection:confused:. A great thing about the forums are to learn new things. Please keep posted on this and what the vet says. I am very interested in what it is. Was the MBD while u owned it? Looks pretty healthy by the pics.
Good luck I hope he is ok.

the casque was some deficiency before we got him >.> it is cute though ^-^ as for MBD he hasn't had it while we've had him why? does he look like hes had MBD? srry new to illness things on chams and I cant get into the vet for atleast a week :( oh and his light is on top of his cage i dont put the light in any of our herps cage its a big no-no (specially with my cornsnake thats fascinated by the light sometimes :D) I will definitely keep yall posted this forum is the reason hes in good health because of the awesome people here and their advice ^-^
thanks for the response iv also been searching all over the web and cant find anything like it>.>

Have you figured out what this is yet?

I have a panther that has the exact same thing on his tail...

Have you noticed any change in your cham. since your last posts???

maybe we can help each other figure this out??

nope... the ones on Kraid are almost gone though >.> its weird and our vet wont be back till January :mad: he still acts the same and his habits havent changed we have no idea what it could be....they hurt though we got him out of his cage and barely touched them and they felt like they were filled with water the back one had I guess popped or something cause it was just slimy there >.> were watching it closely now and paying attention to everything he does.... If you get any info on your panthers bumps I would love to hear I can't find anyone thats had this before :confused:

a fluid filled sac, would to me suggest 2 things. a burn , or a infection of dermal tissue..

they are really odd considering. once your vet gets back, you should probably still make that vet appointment, just to make sure.

green bumps

Its is a strange thing for us. Nothing has changed in the care of our panther. We have had him for almost a year. He will be going to a bigger cage tom. but all in all things/lighting are the same.

Going to see the vet tom. afternoon. Will let you know asap when we find out what this is.!! Do you live in a cold area?

How long would you say your guy has had the bumps? Does he seem crankier than usual.? Azriel seems to really want out of his cage more than usual, it may have nothing to do with the bumps. Going to see a reptile specialist vet tom. afternoon. I will keep you informed as soon as I know what is going on.

trust me his little angry buts going to the vet asap!! I wish we had another reptile vet in the area but you even suggest and they act like your crazy

So we took our little one to the vet yesterday. She had not ever seen this bump before. She said that it very well could be an infection, since chameleons are very prone to getting viral and bacterial infections.

She gave us a cream that is an antibiotic and and antibacterial cream to be applied 2 x a day for about a month. ITs called ( thermazene).

Hope this helps.
