Weird Jacksons behavior

Today I noticed maxamillion (Jackson chameleon 3horned male) was at the bottom walking around or scratching at the glass I picked him up bathed him he was light vibrate colors same with me holding him until I tried putting him back in his terrerium he'd either run really quick where I couldn't shut the door or he'd go right back to the bottom until I'd reach my hand in and he'd crawl out is this normal behavior for Jackson? Or should I be concerned

Scratching at the glass? You should have Maximillion in a screen cage and when you return him you should place him on a mid level branch or vine. Your guy sounds like he is bored with his environment and as an intelligent creature he wants out and to explore the world. His behaviour is normal for him. Add more enhancements to his enclisure. He sounds like a really cool boy.

I'm confused...this text is a bit awkward. Why are you bathing him? That is extremely stressful. If he was vibrating he's trying to tell you he doesn't want to be held. It sounds to me as if his cage is too small. Most chams who want to escape their current cage will pace around over and over, do whatever they can to get out the door even if it means they have to climb on a human to do it.

I think that may be a typo and was meant to say vibrant colors... I could be wrong though

Usually if a chameleon wants out of their enclosure it means they're not happy with it and when they don't want to come out it means they've grown to like it. Is he in glass? That's really bad for him. Chameleons have a delicate repitory system and need screen/mesh cages for optimum are flow a circulation so they don't get respitory problems and ultimately die early.

on the pic the enclosure has a screen top and the space under the door is also screen... If the door is screen too I'd say that's enaugh ventilation.
In Europe the half glass/half screen terrariums are more common than in the US and are often used for chasm too.

I hope you ment shower instead of bathing since they love to shower, but a bath or swimming is very unnatural for them and can be stress full.

For a cham to run... Well mine just walks a little faster sometimes but they aren't build for speed.
So if he's moving fast you should really ask yourself why, since they would usually just rely on their camouflage when threatened.
Maybe he can see his own reflection in the glass and is intimidated by his own reflection?

I meant to say vibrant colors my bad he doesn't vibrate when I hold him he use to hang upside down if I reached my hand in ther the only time he does that now is if I spray him I bath him to make sure he's hydrated I wasn't sure if he was old enough to put in the shower yet

I never take the water over his feet I know they don't like swimming I read that that amount of water stresses them and they try drinking it which causes them to aspirate I've contemplated him seeing his reflection as wel

There is no reason for putting him a bath for hydration. They can not absorb water through their vent or their skin. For a bearded dragon, yes, a weekly or more bath is how they stay hydrated. If you are misting properly, then you should not have a problem. You can do the shower, put him on a stable plant and point the spray to the wall and not directly at him so that the bounce off will land on him. Make sure you are supervising the whole time. It is so much safer to shower them than put them in any type of standing water. But honestly if you are misting properly, then you shouldn't even need to do that. They do not drink from a bowl, they won't drink in a tub. All you are doing is putting him at risk of aspirating water if he slips and goes face first.

Going to the bottom of the cage is unusual. I am not very experienced, but I would make sure that the humidity and temperature levels are correct. Because the top of the cage is glass, and it is a relatively small cage, I would make sure it is not too hot, and that it has enough air flow. Jacksons like it much cooler. What are the cage's measurements and temperatures?
