I've been sloooooooooooooooooooooowly getting things together for the arrival of our Kammer baby this coming Tuesday. Here is my small cage and I am curious to know if ya'll think that it will make a nice home for him.

I'm open for suggestions if you think I need to change anything.

Looks good, how are you handling drainage?

I ordered (and recieved) a couple custom pvc drainage pans from Kevin (AquaZamp) when I got my misting system from him. Actually it has two of the domes and I will put the other one on the larger cage that he will move into later. I drilled 3/8" holes in the bottom of the cage and then hot-melted screen over the bottom side of the holes to keep the crickets from escaping. I then, drilled a hole and used pvc glue to put a fitting in the right hand side of the larger tray and the left hand side of the smaller tray, right near the middle two edges of the trays. That way I can hook up my drainage hose and drain both cages into the same 5 gallon bucket........after shimming the opposite sides of the cages to direct the water to the drainage holes in the trays.

Oh, and you can't see it in the picture.........but.......I also got some acrylic stands that Kevin picked up for me to keep the bottom of the pots up off the bottom of the cage. That oughta help with drainage from the pots.

My crickets came yesterday and they are in their new little habitat I made for them.......gettin' fat and happy on Repashy Bug Burger.....as we speak.

One of the BEST things about him coming on Tuesday......is......that it is on my birthday.

So...........................Happy Birthday to ME..........:p

Well what a great birthday your gonna have!

Cage looks great, now it's time to just hurry up and wait til tuesday.

Wish I had been that prepared! Maybe electric thermometer/hygrometer, I found my anologs today and sat them next to my electrics, 5% greater reading tham electric humidity, and 10% less than electric on temp! Have fun! Happy Birthday!

Congrats!!!!! I love the excitement. My kammer baby ate and drank right away. Super healthy and is definitely the pick of the clutch.

Only suggestion I have is to add a little cover near the basking spot. My baby needed to feel more hidden in that area then my others did.

Great job on the set up and be sure to post pics!!

LOOKS AWSOME.... THE WAITING IS HORRIBLE:p

AFTER YOUR NEW GUY'S ARRIVAL POST PICS WHEN YOU CAN:D

Thanks everybody.......:)

I think I'm gonna have to get another basking bulb because even when I have the basking branch down as far as I do........it gets to hot, according to the thermometer I have. Eventually, I'm gonna pick up a digital thermometer and hygrometer.......hopefully an "all-in-one" unit. The humidity seems to stay right around 70%, but that is without any lights on or any misting happening. I have the RainDome set to go off at 10am thru 10:15am and then again from 4pm thru 4:15pm. What's your thoughts on those times, is it enough........not enough........or to much ???

I think I'm ready........and Tuesday can't get here fast enough.

tick.........tock..........tick..........tock ;)

Looks like you'll have a happy birthday then.......great looking setup, I also would add a leaf or two at the basking spot, just while he settles in at least. Probably over cautious, but the quicker he settles in the better, it's a terrible worry if they don't eat for a few days :D. Looking forward to seeing the pics too....I know you've been planning this for a while

I have my mister set to go off 1 hour after lights on and have it go off three times per day. I hand mist in the morning and afternoon. I know the waiting game sucks. You are def. Getting one of the best!!!

What bloodline are you getting?

Happy bday

Hey Don,

The setup looks great! You did a good job! I hope everything is working well for you! Can you show us some more photos of the bottom half of your stands and the water trays? Im curious to see how it all fits under there.

Don't you love Kevins new raindomes?!
can't wait to get new cages and order those domes.
I had that cage as well and it lasted about 1 month, but I bought it cause it still makes a nice sunning cage.
Can't wait for pics!
Welcome to the Kammer family :D
