I have one tattoo of Little Foot from the Land Before Time Series

I thought I was the only one who remembered that! My favorite character was Petrie.

Here is a pic of a blue jay I carved.

Wow that is super neat!!! I went to a woodcarving festival in Sydney, OH a few years ago and they had a lot of skilled wood workers there who made things such as this. Always strikes me in aww when I see a video of someone on the net every once in a while, who chops up a boring tree stump in a yard to look like an American Eagle or a Native American or anything really. I'm sure that craft takes lots of skill and practice. Very cool indeed.

Oh I have been to a lot of carving shows, and there are a lot there I wouldn't be able to hold a candle too. Have you ever been to the one in convers IN? Thanks for the complements.

I love reading and also have a tattoo (planning the next ones as well). MissMaisie, I've worked in a 5* hotel for 7 years at the Front Desk, so PM me if you have questions or advice I could help you with!
Thanks! I've worked in a boarding kennel before when I was younger and i loved it, even though back then it was mostly cleaning duties it was still great fun and very rewarding.

I didn't know they had one there. I went to the one in Sydney, OH a few years ago cuz it was a giant apple festival / woodcarving festival / art show / car show. Deff a good time and it was very neat. This is one of the pics I took there. Something about that crab just blew my mind in the amount of detail that went into a piece like that. Was crazy neat.

That is beautiful, I like the way they left the wood natural. Thanks for sharing. Just curious how many broken bones did you get before you got good at the bike thing? That's crazy cool!

Just like the title says...What other things besides chams is everyone into? Some years back I raced motorcycles. After I gave that up, I wandered into the world of firearms and got hooked on target shooting. Became a certified Range Safety Officer and have a side gig working part time at a range. As if between my full time career and part time gig wasn't enough...I also love to make my own BBQ sauce, to the point I turned it into a little side business, portion of the proceeds I donate to a non profit org to benefit children and adults with Autism...Also have a few tattoos, always wanting more...So...whose next? lol

Nice idea for a thread. It's interesting to hear what else all you fellow Cham lovers are up to in your free time! As for me, I am the Women's Volleyball coach at a D2 Juco. My team just made it to Nationals for the 1st time in our schools history so I'm ready to retire now, at the ripe age of 28 :D. I love all animals and plants and photography and the great outdoors! :)

I've fractured my right foot once. Broke every toe on my right foot (all at the same time.....) once. You have three pieces of bone making a finger... On my right hand, on my pinky finger, the bone that your fingernail is attached to - I broke that bone completely in half once too, and could literally look INTO my finger and INTO my bone. Was some of the worst pain you can imagine. Had to pop my finger in my mouth to slow bleeding getting everywhere while I rain to Tractor Supply Company a block away to scream for help. Opened my mouth to ask the cashier inside to call 911, and all the blood from my finger shot out my mouth and down my shirt. She yelped like a dog. lol.

Well you're dedicated to your craft there is no doubt. You must love it very much,

One thing I spend my free time doing is playing fingerstyle acoustic guitar. "Fingerstyle", also known as fingerpicking, is when you play the guitar with no picks. Using your fingers. I spend lots of my playing time making up my own songs, but I've never recorded myself because (1) I don't have a good quality camera / sound device to do so and (2) I am always changing the things I write because I'm never satisfied with it I guess. I do learn other people's songs as well... such as this song from a guy named Craig, that took me months to learn, and I finally learned it all 2 years ago, and is my favorite song I know:

I also enjoy riding flatland bmx. Like, in pretty much any free time I have, I'm out riding. I should have listed this hobby first, because it deff tops the rest for me. Most people don't know what flatland BMX is, or have even ever heard of it. It's basically breakdancing on a bike, and takes an insane amount of devotion and practice to master. Here is a link to check out if you wanna see what it is...

I'm not in that clip, because those guys are professionals, lots of them doing it for a living... but that is a Highlight Video of one of the flatland Voodoo Jams in New Orleans back in 2013. Voodoo Jam is the 2nd biggest flatland competition in the world, second only to the Flat Ark in Japan. I plan to go to both one day.

Here is another really good flatland clip, of the Real City Spin Contest up in Canada every year....

I'm pretty good, but those pros are on a whole other level. Some of their riding gets insane crazy. I've only been riding about 5 years.... Lots of them pros have been riding since the 80's. Here is Jean-William Prevost for example....

The stuff he does is on a bike is insane. I don't compare myself to others though because that will discourage you. Use them as motivation instead to push yourself and learn. Riding only for fun. That's what I do.

This is the #1 love of my life right here, as BMX has always been with me in some form since I was about 6 or 7.

I also like swimming, running, camping, hiking, fishing, 4-wheeling, paintballing, Call of Duty Zombies, and sometimes having a few drinks to relax on the weekends. (y)

I had a Greg Hill Signature bike back in the early 80's. I used to do some crazy stuff back then, but the stuff I see today is just sick. Amazing how the art has evolved. Guess the same can be said for skate boards.

You used to ride flatland? Or did you do park/street/dirt? Get back out there and ride! There are some pros that go to competitions that are in their 40's and 50's. It's never too late! As far as the evolution of the sport.... there are still alot of old school riders that don't do the new tricks people come up with. Back then, it was all about style and technical flips and spins. Nowadays, most people just see how fast they can spin their tricks. Then you have the really good pros, who can basically do any trick you ask of them. lol. I hope to be at that level one day. In the summer, I ride for 2-3 hours almost daily.

Very true! Now I still ride, but if I get injured doing tricks I don't pay the mortgage and buy food for my pets! Back in the day (did I just say that?) Greg Hill was a big guy in a small guy sport. He was amazing! I'm sure there are some clips of him on the YouTube. He inspired all of us in the neighborhood. He was the Tony Hawk of my day, but there was no internet to make it mainstream.

I like to shoot my bow, hoping to get into some 3D competitions this year. This picture was my first shot ever at 50 yards, I previously hadn't shot more than 25 due to not being able to see well past 25 yards. I had just gotten some new glasses and a new sight for my bow and punched it at half a football field!!

I'm also a lover of orchids. :)
