What do you do with all the babies?

I would love to get a female for my blue bar ambilobe, but, I just can't figure out what do do with all the babies?
I mean, I don't mind keeping a pair, and even raising the babies to a large enough size, but in the end I'd probably be happier with just the two of them....
I mean, How do you guys offload all your babies? You put adds out on craislist or what? I mean, it seems like there is a potential for a large number of offspring... lol?

you know, i have wondered the same thing. so many people have clutches hatching all the time. where do they all go? i hope nobody on here supplies to petstores

Kingsnake.com, Fauna Classifieds, Kijiji, Classifieds, Breeder Websites, Some good pet shops like EBV, This website, many many ways

If you have two panthers, you have to keep them in separate enclosures .... you don't have to breed them.
Your Panther doesn't really want a mate ... if you want another chameleon, get another male ... then there will be no babies.

Not all petstores are bad there are a few specialty shops that are knowledgable and have nice animals but you are right there are alot of bad ones petsmart petco and the list goes on lllreptile will buy your entire clutches and big apple herp buys them to

If you dont want babies and if you dont have a ready market for them, dont breed. I make sure I will have homes for at least half of the expected babies before I breed, mostly through people I know. I used local websites, local contacts, and in rare instances a good local pet store (this store has a good understanding of chameleon needs, but they dont like to pay what the cham is worth since they have to mark it up for their own profit)

Yes, thanks Brad.
Not planning on keeping them together :D
I love getting tail so much, I'm sure my little guy would too hahahahahah actually I heard the only other animal tht mates for fun besides humans is Dolphins....
and while I'm not saying I'd have to breed them, with two chams, eventually I'm pretty sure I'd let them have a go at it if they are receptive to the idea! ;p

Howdy,

I doubt that this was aimed at chameleon keepers, but none-the-less :

My problem with selling to a pet store or wholesaler is that I don't get to meet the eventual owner of my baby chameleon.
And ..........
I don't get to decide who gets to buy and who doesn't.

-My decision
-My blog
-My care sheet
-My tech support*

*Can you say, "control freak?"

Ya, I hear you. I much prefer to choose who gets my chameleons.
But the three that I've sold to petstores went with my "care doc" which the petstore did pass along to each new owner. It helped that I recommended various products and books which the store sold ;)

LOL
/agreed

AND JUST to make things clear, obviously I'm worried about the well beings of my chams or I wouldn't have asked in the first place ;p
Having not dealt with many baby chams at once before, and having read here on the forums of what others go through, brought up the question that I felt needed to be asked of those that have gone through it.

thanks again guys
