What is it?

Just noticed this on the underside of the leaves on my birdnest fern. Seems to have appeared almost overnight. Anyone have an idea what it may be?
I have noticed on a couple of leaves.

Yeah they look exactly like the spores I had on my birds nest.

Hey, thanks all. Just learned something new today. Guess it won't hurt Drake any if he happens to chew on a few?
Should I try and clean them or just leave them alone??

Id Leave them be. Some ferns/spores are toxic but I am not sure which species. I know the bugs love to eat my birds nest ferns!

Ok, I'm going to leave them. Not very knowledgeable when it comes to plants and thought it maybe some dreaded disease that was waiting to attack the first cham that walked by.? thanks for the info
