What is the Average size of a 4 month old Panther ?

I was wondering what locale because he doesn't have much color yet. Ambilobes show a lot of color at this age. But, plenty of other locales take 9-12months to show some colors. Doesn't have much to do with the final outcome though; plenty of ambilobes show tremendous promise and then turn out to be so-so color wise. On the other hand, ambangas take a little longer to color up,but some of them turn out spectacularly.

That picture was about a month and he is showing more colour now. His father and mother have amazing colours so i highly doubt i will be disapointed

will he hit like a growth spurt or something like a human ? I've heard other panthers double their size in a month, is that a possibility?

Mine more than doubled in size. If you click on my profile and look at my pics you can see from one month up to 5 months the extreme change he's had. I have a male ambilobe. It's crazy how fast they grow. My family are shocked it's the same cham lol

haha i looked. Thats crazy ! I hope my guy does that

It's fine. Just wondering if anyone knew. Do you know what shed looks like? I'm fairly certain she's shedding but I thought I'd make sure.

You can go look at my pics and it shows two different sheds. When they're really little they kind of poof into a shed and it happens real fast. The first time he was totally fine one minute then literally I come back in the room and he's entirely white. It kinda really freaked me out lol.

I'm sure he will you just have to be patient. One day hell be a teeny baby the size of your pinky and the next hell be the size of your hand. Enjoy the baby times because they don't last long.

I 've raised a lot of panthers, some grow really fast in the beginning, others not so fast. Breeders often call the fasted growing male the"alpha" male and he certainly may well be AT THAT AGE. At one year of age size tends to even out a bit, not saying all the males are the same exact size but 3/4s of them are very close to the same size. I'll end up with 1or2 larger males and 1 or 2 smaller males. Do the math: clutch size average 20-30, half are females, that gives you 10-15 males. In which group do you think the best looking males will be in? Almost invariably, when somebody picks a male out of a group they pick the biggest male, and he usually has a little better color than most of the others because he's a little more mature and the last 3-5 males I had left would be the smallest of the clutch. So, I would raise these up a few more months and not all of them, but a good percentage would color up very nicely. The guy who bought the biggest male would see them at 6-8 months old and ask if these were available when he was selecting his male. His male didn't color up quite as well. Size has nothing to do with color! What I want in a breeding male is: reasonable size, good color, and excellent health!
What I'm saying is, relax about how fast your cham is growing, give him optimal conditions, take excellent care of him and he will turn out to be the best that his genetics will allow!
One mor thing, genetics for aggressive behavior (males who bully and eat the most) does not equal genetics for the final size of the adult.
