What is with the GE Flourecent Daylight Tubes?

I was at Lowes today and noticed with their Flourecent Bulbs they had some that said "Full Spectrum Light, Ideal for Aquariums and Plant Growth." By General Electric... For like $7 at all sizes. I didn't buy any because I could find anywhere that specifically said "UV". For these to be a UV source for Chams would be to good to be true right?

indeed, just a selling gimick. i got a "full spectrum" A19 bulb for basking for $2. its just a wider color range than normal which gives a nice looking light, but when it comes to uv's, these will come up way short.

When I used to do birds I would use those...there not really for UV but because the color the bulb gives out is similar to the sun (the birds like that)

good if u have live plants in your cage but not as a source of UVB
