a senegals head usually runs right into the body as with a graceful you can usually see a more defined neck. check for spurs if by any chance its a male graceful

Yes, where'd you catch it? I recommend releasing it back to it's natural habitat, if you are located in it's natural habitat.. Also, if you have chameleons in your area etc.

I am not located anywhere in its natural habit I have a graceful and a oustalets chameleon and this looks simular to the graceful but also simular to a senigal wich ive had before but always larger.

I still wouldn't have caught it anyways. Unless you can give it good care (not just "i can keep in a tub for now, and get a cage later on", I would have let it be.. Yes, he is an invasive, but you still need permits to catch them.

I have it in a proper cage my camera is broken thank you. I have had chameleons for a long time and can care for him but forgive me that when their young I cant always tell exactly what it is.

Im pretty sure no permits are needed to catch invasive chameleons out of FL and even sell them.I see them on KS and Fauna they sell them all day long as FL WCs. I know some of them are even on this site.

I contacted Florida Fish and Wildlife. You need a permit or landowners permission:
You need landowner permission to search for, collect and remove chameleons in Florida. On FWC managed lands, that permission is in the form of a nonnative species permit. On other state lands, private lands or federal lands, landowner permission may take the form of a permit, written authorization or verbal agreement- you would need to contact those landowners directly

He was in my yard and I found him in a tree im not re raleasing him or anything like that just keeping as a pet not trying to sell or anything. just another chameleon lover! and feel i got lucky I will be buying more chameleons in the future as well. I thought everyone on here would be happy for me that i found one of these amazing animals sorry for upsetting some of you I will no longer post my finds.

I don't see any harm in keeping it.... You'll give it a bit of a better life.... I mean a cage isn't as nice as a huge tree outside, but at least it'll get fed and watered right. Since you are in FL you should maybe build a nice cage for it to be outside?

That thing is not meant to be free in North America. Keep him or give him away but do not let him go.

Agreed. If was just fine outside, keeping him outside would be the easiest thing to do.. But dont release him now.

Lizard Guy: Please don't let the feelings and the content of some posts or the attidute of some send you away. There is too much great information on this site for that.

That lizard you found doesn't belong wild in FL, no chameleon belongs in the wild in FL, they are all introduced species.
Keep it and take care of it and enjoy.
Welcome. Glad to have you.
Susie
