What local Am I????

I know they use a representative type picture on LLL, but sometimes they do take new pictures for certain individual animals or for a shipment/clutch.

Kingsnake is where I found the ads for the WCs from the chameleon company.

Maybe the OP should email LLL to get this as settled as possible. I would also like to point out that all the other panthers are labeled as CB.

They are wild caught and imported about 4 weeks ago. The adults in the shipment were Sambavas and Nosy Falys.

In my experience, when these shipments come in they are more than just a few animals and we see the trickle down on lists like Kingsnake Classifieds; everyone is selling these wild caught imports. That just hasn’t happened in ages. Also it’s not worth the money or time for the exporters to only ship a few animals when they have quotas in the thousands. I don’t think a large Madagascar shipment has come in yet this year and it's already the end of June.

Pardalis are in such demand now that the importers have to buy 5k worth of other species to get 10-20 pardalis. This particular shipment was so small that even some of the importer's best customers didnt hear about it.

Wow that’s craaazy. And would explain why I haven’t heard of these small shipments. Mind you I don’t pay attention to the KS classifieds as much as I used to and/or I’m not quite as involved in the hobby as I used to be either. I stand corrected.

So question; the quota for pardalis is 2000 live specimens; are all the Maddy shipments coming in as these small, select private imports? I can understand the Panther Breeder/Dealers keeping the the imports to themselves (Actually I don’t understand the expensive panther cache but whatever) but where are all the rest of the things like lateralis, verrucosus and oustaleti? Those have high quotas too.

I know Tanzania is shut down but usually I see tons of health clinic/wild caught animal threads on here and I just haven’t this year.

I did contact them and I gave all info they gave me, the pics I posted are of the individual.

so is this most likey what he is???

*shrugs* Yeah? I saw them in person a couple days after they came in and was thinking so although you never know.... I'm going to send you a private message....

You don't have to watch the KS classifieds, really. It seems more and more uncommon to see WC pardalis on there. As to the shipments, the 2000 pardalis are split up between Asia, Europe, and the US and, to me at least, it seems like fewer are coming into this country now than anytime in the last 20 years. And, yes, I think shipments with 40+ wc pardalis are uncommon these days.

They are coming in here and there, though. I have purchased Nosy Be and Nosy Faly pardalis, oustaleti, and lateralis from three different 2012 shipments that came in through the major west coast importer. They have great prices but their exporter does not give any locality data for the pardalis so, unfortunately, the females are always a crap shoot and the unknown youngsters like the one here result. The oustaleti and verrucosus at LLL right now are wild caught; the lateralis seemed to sell pretty quick but they were in the last shipment, too. It's definitely not like the ol' days.
