okay so i was cruising fauna, and i saw this guy and i am just FLOORED! i have never seen such a high yellow before. Is it just a one off type thing or is there a locality/bloodline that throws the yellows like this?

Here is a pic i snagged from the add

looks like an ambilobe or a cross, blue bar ambilobes show yellows on their bodies, also sambava show yellows and also ampiskiana.

good luck

i would guess that its a bluebar ambilobe, its not a sambava because it doesnt have their U-bar. But then again it could also be a cross as stated above.

It's from Tkilgour of Ohio. It's an ambilobe. I can't remember the lineage.

Not all sambavas have U bars by the way. My Sambava turns completely yellow with deep turquoise or maroon bars and a pink/orange belly occasionally. He more of a red and orange guy though, so it doesn't happen often.

Oh i did not know that, i thought that the u-bar was a distinguishing feature. I love this forum lol i learn something new everyday :p

It is a general indicator, but not always. Some sambavas have Us, Ws, Ys, Ys with a third bar so its kind of like a W with a connecting bar going down to the belly, Vs, ls, Os, and Os with a connecting bar going up towards the spine. Any other locale can have those same markings plus more, but the Us are just more common in east coast locales/sambavas. The Us generally come with belly spotting and striping.

That guys an Ambilobe or at least an American Ambilobe if you know what I mean. ;)

Not so sure why there is even a question regarding his locale?

Anyways, if he is CB where the hell did his pads go?
