So I am new to his forum and i am not a chameleon owner yet and I'm having a difficult time choosing which chameleon I should get. I know that veields are suppose to be less difficult but I'm not attracted to them (as weird as that sounds) ... I'm really in love with the jacksons chameleon and I know that there are some significant differences in the care. My biggest problem is that I can't find any for sale that are not wild caught... I don't want WC because of the possible health issues. If anyone can give me their advice ,opinion, experiences. Also any way I can get a CB or tell me if flchams has CB jacksons?

Go for what you like. Get a Jackson's.

If you are in the States, there are plenty of breeders and wholesalers who have Jackson's regularly. Shipping is not very expensive. In Canada if I wanted a Jackson's I would have to find a breeder, pay the sometimes $250 price they ask, and then another $120 to have it shipped to me.

Down there you can find CB Jackson's for 100$ a pair and get them shipped for $30. Check the classifieds here.

Ironic? that what you are looking for happen to be 10 mins from you. Your more than welcome to come check them out for yourself.

IMHO you and any cham you get will be better off if you research and plan for the species you care most about and lay in all the supplies necessary in your location to keep one correctly than buy something that will always sort of disappoint you. If you end up with something you didn't really want you are more likely to cut corners in its care (I don't mean to imply that you would deliberately neglect or abuse any animal...but how far you'll go to give it a perfect captive life might be subtly different). You will also end up really thinking hard about what will be needed to support a jackson's in your climate. Not a bad thing to do at all.

Thank you so much for your input Carlton and zen reptiles ... And jackp308 yes very ironic , but I think it was meant to be :D. I hope to be doing business with you soon :)

You've already been given excellent advice--set everything up first, so it is already the right humidity and basking temperatures, etc before your cham arrives.
FWIW, I feel exactly the same as you do about many other cham species--I adore Jackson's chams!
