What should I have to put Veiled outside briefly as a " treat"

My Veiled has started to warm up to me.... a little. Better than he was a couple weeks ago. I've noticed him climbing a lot on the screen though as if he wants to explore more, and when I open his cage door to mist him he comes right up to me and tries to come out. I wanted to be able to bring him outside on my screened in patio to let him explore more, get natural light and have him associate coming out to me as a reward. I live in Florida but my patio does not get direct sunlight. When temps permit what should I have for him to crawl on outside. Obviously a plant or two. But is that enough? And is it ok to bring him out if the area is shaded. And I'm not talking about keeping him outside, just something to offer him for an hour or two. If anyone can tell me what they do or have for the chameleons to hang outside for a bit?

A hanging plant like pothos or spider plant would work. A largish potted tree might give him enough hight to feel comfortable.
Here in California we use extra screened cages to put them out side safely to get real sun. We have to mist to keep up the humidity you already have.

I started to take my little guy out a few days ago. I keep him on my arm or let him crawl to my head and soak up some rays as I sit there and read. He doesnt move once he gets comfy

Ok cool! Thank you both. I have another question but I don't want to start a new thread and seem annoying. So I'll just ask y'all. So just now as I was misting Harvey's cage, he made a noise. It's not the huffing they do through their nostrils. It sounded like if a baby is drinking out of a bottle, and when they suck too hard it makes that whistle like noise, does that make sense ? Lol weird analogy I know but that's what it sounded like to me. I know they can get respiratory infections so it made me nervous. His humidity level stays around 60-70 during the day. Sometimes peaks up to 80 right after misting

It might of been nothing really. My dude, Arthur, makes all kinds of noises, mostly hissing, but he made a whistling noise once and it was because he exhaled through his nose.

He did it once today, only when misting. Then he did it two other days but again, only when I mister his cage

You can put a ficus tree on your lanai (I'm in Fl too), and then just let him explore. I've also got a hibiscus in a large planter with a pothos planted in it that I've tied off one of the pathos vines to the ficus tree so he can roam a bit further. As long as it's securely screened he'll be fine out there, however in nice weather I take a book out there and read/babysit him while he explores and soaks up the sunshine.

Keep close tabs on when he makes that noise. If it's a one-off I wouldn't be too concerned, but anymore you might want to get it checked. I can give you the names of good cham vets that I can personally recommend in Orlando and Marathon Key, depending on where you are located.

Thank you! So the noise I have found he ONLY makes when he's being misted and trying to drink. So I think he is fine. I'm wanting to go today to get a plant for the patio. But the spot I'm at does not get any direct sunlight. Kind of sucks. Is there a plant that is safe for him, but surges in low light? I tried to research but didn't come up with any good answer.

You might be ok with a pothos, and possibly a ficus. The ficus tend to drop their leaves when in a new environment with different lighting than they are used to, but will re-grow them and adapt to their new levels of light. A large shefflera might work as well - I have some outside that don't get very much sun. Good luck!

I was thinking Ficus Lyrata (fiddle leaf fig) I had one for a long time on a north facing patio like yours. It is usually sold larger than the ficus benjamina (weeping fig). It has large fiddle shaped leaves. You find them in the house plant section of nurseries. My other suggestions were the same as absolutbill's above.
