I need to start thinking about a bigger cage for my 5 month old male panther. He is currently in a 16x16x30. I was wondering if it was ok to put him in a cage that would be big enough to house him as an adult 24x24x48? or would i need to put him in an in-between size till he get older. I have read that to big a cage can make it hard for them to find thier food. I was going to build one and didnt want to build another 6 months down the road if I didnt have to.

Thanks for the thoughts

Nope, go right ahead and get him the 4' cage :) He'll be more than fine. He's old enough where he's more than capable of hunting around for his food. But if this worries you, you can always hand feed him or cup feed him, so you know he's finding his food with ease.
