What species of Jacksons do I have?

Went to Petsmart a few days ago and this sweet little Jacksons guy my son has since named "T-Rex" (I call him Bob) was sadly sitting at the bottom of his tiny glass tank.
I was very proud of myself for walking away and not giving in to buying him.
Today I had to go pick up some vitamin powder and he was still sadly sitting at the bottom of his tiny glass tank. I asked the girl how long he had been with them and she said over 2 weeks. I got him out and he perked up and started to turn green with yellow on his face and around his eyes. He was just sitting with his eyes closed in his cage but was very happy or scared (hard to tell) to see me and at least looked alive.
Long story short he is here and set up in a cage. I bought two new real Hibiscus plants and fake vines.
I am not sure how to tell what type of Jacksons or approximate age.
I know better to research before purchasing but I felt like he was going to get sick and die staying there and I fell in love with those eyes.
Soooo any great tips and sites would be much appreciated.
He drank a ton of water at misting and ate about 7 crickets.
His basking is 84 degrees and the rest of his cage is about 72 on top and 68-70 in the lower part of his cage. The room he is in stays at about 68 degrees.

Young male Trioceros jacksonii xantholophus. I'd keep the heavy waterings going for a while, if not permanently. Starting with a young one will give you the best chances for success so you've got that going for you. Hopefully the sub-par care he was receiving at Petco didn't do any lasting harm.

Thanks so much!! I am glad to hear you guys thinks he looks good. He does love to drink water and I am misting him about every other hour. He eats very well and will drink the water from the mister when I turn it down really low to a drip. I have a drip bowl in his cage and hope he stays fairly small.
Does anyone have a guess on age? He is about the length of my pointer finger nose to vent (around 3 inches).

I think he is nearly one year old.

He looks awesome but please do not buy from Petsmart or Petco. They don't take care of them the way they should be taken care of. By buying him now, they think there is a demand for them like they do the Veils. Plus they are over priced by like double. You saved him but in the future buy from a breeder online or here.

I wouldnt say that about all of them, yes prices are high, but all their animal prices are high. My friend is a manager at a petco in Austin, TX, and when they get chameleons they open up their dividers and put a small fan so they can get ventilation. They also make sure people know how to take care of them.

Granted, they dont get that many chameleons anymore because of their requirements, but don't chastise every petco/petsmart. It's the manager.

I'll tell you Petsmart does not give a crap about the Veils. Every Petsmart I have been to all keep them with substrate. No matter what you tell them they don't do crap about it. And now Jacksons!
