What to put on a cut?

Polysporin is your best bet. Make sure it's the kind without any pain killers, it will do more damage than good.

I would not put anything on it. Either just keep it clean or take it to your vet for a cream! Some ingredients in this stuff can be lethal to these guys...

Yep, a $200 vet visit for a cut (provided it is only a cut and nothing more serious) versus a $6 tube of polysporin that has been used by members on here for quite some time is a great idea. Many lethal ingredients in it.;)

That's not to say I don't like the idea of not using anything at all to let things heal like they would any other day (in the wild).

doesnt neosporin do something to chameleons skin? i though that i read somewhere that its bad for them unless u get a specific kind?

Neosporin with pain killer can cause problems, that is why we suggest that if you have to use neosporin at all to use the kind without pain killers. Polysporin is a better option.
on geckos skin wont usually shed properly where it was applied but no real issues.
I believe mineral oil has a similar effect, and it can cause the scales to do something (what specifically I can't remember).

Mmmm...I've never ever had any issues with using polysporin for any reptile..Cham to Gecko to Iguana...my gecko's all shed just fine after it's use. Get it with out the Lidocaine which is now added for pain. but you can by it without. Generic is fine.
