What to use on the bottom of the cage?

Im told dirt is a bad idea. I tried the carpet stuff but that stuff just stinks after like a week and gets all mildewy. I tried paper towels and didnt like those. So what do you guys use?

i dont use anything........He never goes down there.....And if there is any water I just wipe it up with a paper towel

I just use the pvc bottom that came with my cage. Water will collect but evaporate and its easy to clean.

umm well i use a one of those 16x16 big rubber steps for outside, i picked up at menards, i drilled holes in it. it works really well i think but also depends of u got a good drainage system
