what type of thermometer to use?

What type of thermometer are you using? I understand the benefits of a digital thermometer. I now have more then 1 cage setup and I was wondering what people are using for multiple cages.

I have an infared thermometer, but I am not confident I am getting an accurate basking them with this type of device.
