I've been thinking about the old days of reptile shows lately and was just wondering what everyones favorite reptile was to go see at the old shows?

I remember as a kid always being SUPER excited to see the big gaboon vipers and adult cobras. They scared the crap out of me but I was positively fascinated with them.

That and the blue tongue skinks and ornate uromastyx, they're so cute as babies!!!

And of course panther cham breeders people would bring along to show the line of babies they were selling. I thought they were amazing then and still do.

How bout you????:D

For me it was the Green Tree Pythons and of course the Panthers, especially Nosy Bes. That is why my first panther had to be a Nosy Be lol.

I got to pet a gaboon! His venom gland and fangs had been removed (illegally) and once he was confiscated by authorities he was used as a teaching animal. Super cool!

I like to see the big tegus and one guy had a whole shipment of mellers so it was really cool to see a big of group of them like that.

Love gaboons!!!

Gaboons are BY FAR my favorite snake out there and was actually lucky enough to see a BIG adult female this past weekend at hamburg that someone was selling. I know it's always been a big controversy but I've always wanted a venomiod gaboon to keep as a display in a really nice furniture grade natural vivarium but it's so hard to find true professionally (and licensed) made venomoids so I tend steer clear.

And yes! I can't believe I forgot to mention the green tree pythons! One of my all time favorites, such a beautiful species! That and the amazon basin emerald tree boas:D

Can't removing the venom eventually kill the animal? But I agree I feel gaboons and rhino vipers are beautiful. Eyelash pit vipers also seem to catch my eye
