What wattage bulb ?

Hello I need abit of help I’ve got experience with veiled chameleon and now I’m getting a panther I have created his habitat but I’m not sure what wattage of bulb I need I’m already aware I need a thermostat I have a 45x45x90cm (18x18x35”) exo Terra glass viv and I will be using a solar glo mercury vapour bulb any help or input is appreciated.

I have the same Viv as you and use a 60 watt exo terra bulb hanging from above the cage on a stand personally I don't use a thermostat haven't used one on any of my reptiles and they are all fine as long as you check the temps daily you will be fine

What reptile are you keeping and what temps do you get ? So you think a 80watt solar glo would be fine ?

Male veiled chameleon and a bearded dragon the veiled is on a 60watt and the bearded is on a 100 watt both are pro rep not exo terra veiled is getting 32c degrees in the chams Viv the bearded is 35c degrees but the bulb is double the distance hope this helps

Buy 100watts basking bulb and use this dimmer to control the temps assuming you have a probe on the basking area. With the 100 watts u can always use the dimmer to lower the heat or bring it up on cold days. Instead of just trying to buy the perfect wattage and or adjusting the distance. The dimmer will do the trick. Thats how i have my setup.
