What's in your incubator???

The cooling part of my incubator went out too, so I've just been keeping the eggs in my chameleons room. What kind of incubator do you have?

Mine went out over the summer and destroyed my montie eggs. I had 7 eggs and only one hatched, even he wasn't strong enough to keep going. ): But on the bright side of things I have 9 more montie eggs incubating and due out sometime in February!

Why dont you all get a wine cooler and wire a Ranco ETC-111000 Single Stage Etc Temperature Control w/ Sensor.in to it instead of buying those little incubators that always go out JMO. I did this for my panther eggs because it is hot in TEXAS and it has worked great.

Total cost for us to do this was $140 bucks with 3 times the room and a better more controled incubator:D

What wine cooler do you use, because the only ones I can seem to find do not get into my temp range needed, I also need it to heat due to the climate I live in. That's why I chose the mr-whatever. But it has proved to be nothing but a piece of junk, so right now my eggs are incubating in my office at work since the building has remained a constant temp since I started working there.

I mean, I guess I could use heat tape to control the heat in the wine cooler and just have it hooked up to the controller. Has anyone ever tried this?

It doesent matter what wine cooler the temp rang dosent matter eather thats why you hook a ranco up to it so it controles the temps. it has a heat and cool function so in the summer you plug it in to the unit that cools and in the winter put a stip of heat tape in there and switch the ranco to heat mode and plug it in to the heat tape it sounds hard but is very easy:D this is how I do it and have never had a problem

i have 13 incubators and they contain

-153 veiled cham eggs
-248 faly eggs
-24 mitsio eggs
-18 mitsio-faly eggs
-402 crested gecko eggs
-1 blue tongued skink egg

Dan,

What is it with you and giving out bad information and making stuff up? Its a scary trend in your posts. Blue tongued skinks give live birth, they do not lay eggs. Why do you always feel the need to make stuff up? Do you really have any eggs in your incubator?

Chris

Good catch there Chris! I didnt even catch that when I read that. Finger snapping....lol;):D

Wow all i have are 4 clutches of faly eggs. No luck with my mitsios yet.

When Waldo matures and Peaches becomes receptive, I will have an incubator full of pure Ambilobes. :)
