Hello everyone. My chameleon just laid her first clutch of eggs. There were about 35. Everything was done by the book: organic top soil, depth of atleast 10 inches, privacy, etc. But she hast gotten back to her usual self since. Its been 48 hours and she hasn't eaten but one meal work, she not drinking, she is skinny as hell and her casc is concave. Im begining to become worried. Does anyone have any pointers???? Could she still have eggs she needs to get rid off? Ive placed the lay bin back in her cage. She did start to dig again briefly, but stopped and just purched back up on her branch again to bask.

Well I'd say ditch the meal worms to, their nutritional value is garbage compared to other feeders. She needs good hydration afterwards and some rest so it's not surprising she's a bit off. A hornworm or 2 could help with giving her some easy hydration. But then again there could be other things going on with your husbandry that might need to be addressed. So when you get a chance, take some pics of her and her enclosure like @NashansCamos mentioned. And if you get a second could you copy and paste and fill out this form, so we can see if there is any other possible issues.

i would get her to the vet right away. She needs and X-ray to make sure she laid all the eggs. It’s also possible she could have ruptured something inside laying the eggs such as an ovary.

Hey all. I guess crickets did the trick. She finally started eating. She ate about ten. May I be out of the woods, or no?
