when do chameleons get their full color?

I was wondering when chameleons get their full color. I notice that some chameleons at really young ages are huge with really nice colors and my is eight months and it's starting to develop its turquoise and yellow.

Depends on the species, but panthers don't get their full colors until 12-15 months. That being said, many show colors much earlier and others really hold out.

He means takes awhile to really color up. My panther is six months old and has so much color it's ridiculous, that doesn't mean a chameleon at 6 months without as much color won't eventually have the same, if not more color as my chameleon.

Do you mid posting a picture? Those colors sound like your chameleon may in fact be a female. Which will never have colors like a male would. They can still be beautiful. Just generally not as bold and colorful.

As a rule color gets better with age This is one of the best parts of keeping a chameleon.
Weather it be a Panther or Veiled they really come into their own around a year old. If you can take yours out into the natural sun it will do wonders We always love pictures!

With veileds it is generally around 6 months. That is when they become sexually mature. But like was said earlier the get better with age. Now if it is a female you own she wont color up until she becomes gravid. Thin look out she will even out shine the male in my humble opinion.
