I went down to LLLReptiles in Oceanside today to pick up the last of my cage supplies and look at their baby veilds to see if i liked any of them. After i picked up my lights/vitamins i just stood there looking at the mass of babies they had in the enclosure trying to see colors and what ones i was liking. I finally picked a male tht i decided i was going to go back down next friday and pick up, but i do have a quetion. Should i take him into a vet or get a fecal test one of the first few days he is home to make sure everythin is ok and going good to start? I mean i know it wouldnt hurt anything but is it recomended?

LLL has tons of babies and they are all so cute! They have 2 or 3 males that are showing darker colors/stripes already and im leaning toward one of those guys.

ah the anticipation :D

ha thats funny! I feel like I'm in that brett farve tv commercial how indecisive he was. I could stand there for hours trying to pick out what color and which one I really like. I think most important is to find one that is active and alert. The more you look the tougher the decisions will be. At the end of it there will be a lucky chameleon that will catch your eyes the most and thats your winner...

How exciting! There's nothing quite like a whole bunch of baby veileds is there?! Makes you wnat each and every one of them!:D It's good that you are getting everything set up and ready before you collect the l'il one! Enjoy the moment!:D It doesn't take them long to grow into those big googly eyes, lol!

it was so fun! There were 3 or 4 that were dead set on climbing eachother and that was just comical. Sadly there was one little dead guy in the bottom of the plant and that was just heart breaking... luckily the one i have my heart set on spent the whole time running around and was very alert and aware that i was standing there, probablhy a little too close, watching him. The little kid in my wanted to bring him home tonight, but it would have been a mad rush to get everything set up tonight for him, i dont even have the shelf my cage is going on bolted into the wall yet lol. Its going to be a looooooooooooooooooooooooong week lol

i can relate bud!! i remember when i went to the local or semi local exotic reptile store on a whim and saw the most beautiful veileds, some jacksons and a few panthers and i almost bought one right away since it was alwas a childhood dream to own a cham but i took a deep breath went home and did some more research and went back a few weeks later and ended up with an adorable bearded pymy. dont know how i ended up with that one but something about her just made me gravitate towards her LOL..i m going to get a veiled one of these days but as for now im happy with my girl and am thinking of getting a male one of these days..i have been looking online and i get so impuslve when i see some of the awesome deals but i hold out and its hard and kinda sucks but it will be better in the long run LOL

Its def worth the wait. When I was thinking about getting a Cham I went in to petsmart and there was this cute little veiled. I bought all of the caged stuff and reluctantly I decided to wait until Saturday to buy him(it was Monday). It was one of the longest weeks ever but then on Friday night there was an add in the local paper about a reptile expo on Saturday. I decided to check it out to maybe pick up on some things from the breeders. As I was making my rounds I saw this guy selling panthers. I stopped to talk to the guy and that's where I saw my panther that I currently have. I am the most impatient person in the world but I can say it was worth the wait.
