When is basking light need

Temp where my Jackson is does not go below 75.Is basking light need.He get's hot real easy.Hes in our family room in the basement where it's cool . humidity 55 to72.What ye say.
 
Filled everything out it disappeared. Here is pic. To show I am doing it right.I belive that to much heat gave him a u r I.last month trying to figure that out.

To me he looks a little dehydrated, he does need 12 hours light with UVB, per day, and climate permitting sunlight, as this is the best light..

However, make sure he has a basking area that is at least 85F and an area that is between 50-70F so he can move to cooler region.

  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?
