When will poor colin start to show colour?

i have just bought a yemen chameleon called Colin, hes a couple of months i imagine hes not that small, hes a browny red colour with some hints of green on his belly.
i was wondering ifhis colours will develop with age as i have seen some fantastic coloured yemens but mines is just a bit brown, poor old colin.
can anyone help?

Be patient! If he is just a few months old, he has alot of growing and changing to do. Also, if you just got him he is still acclimating to his new surroundings and alot of tiime they will be brown for awhile.

cool thanks, i just thought he was some kind of brown male yemen but havent seen that before. so one day he might be green or something? awsome hes all settled in nice he loves his home compared to the pet store!

Once he gets to about 4 - 5 months, his barring will start to show, followed by his colouring at about 6 months of age! He is still only a baby and they sometimes go through a brown phase. If he stays brown all the time then maybe he is too cold - what are his temps like? Also, he may be able to see something that stresses him out. Do you have a dog or cat or small children that might scare him?

yeh he seems very happy and his barring is showing, therres nothing to stress him out he eats well but were not sure how old he is but hes about the size of an i phone, also i have notice when he is sleeping he goes greener.

Temps? Like Tiff said, he could be too cold. If he's too cold he might stay brown all the time in an attempt to warm up. He would also grow a little slower than if the temps are warm, which might prolong him developing bars.

its about 82F with a branch closer to the bulb for basking, i spray the tank in the morning and leave it dry out throughout the day and have his dripper on a couple of times a day, i havent had him long like a week and a half though and im sure hes happy and probably needs to mature?

Temps sound fine, although I wouldn't let it get hotter than 82. Babies do better if kept cooler than adult. 80 - 82 is about right. I see you are also in the UK - what type viv are you housing him in? Also, do you have a UV and a separate basking bulb? Seeing as you've only had him a week, he is probably still settling in, but as long as he is eating, drinking and pooping ok then he just needs more time to get used to a new viv and new people and new vibrations (since they can't hear sounds). It takes some longer to settle in than others.
