Where are the f. campani???

Looks like about $500 a pair. My last one was back in '94. Not much to say about them. Females were more aggressive than the males which I found unusual. They really didn't do anything for me or hold my interest. It is nice to see some back on the market.

What is big about them and what they are doing that is big for us is pave the way for a new procedures to produce new quotas and even further new quotas species. This could be the beginning to something big as far as sustainable yet conservative CITES legal exports from Madagascar.

If that's true, wonderful.

I would buy a pair, even $800 doesn't scare me when it comes to chams. They are a beautiful rare locale so thats why I think it I would grab them. But I am collector of sorts when it comes to animals, should be on hoarders.

I've read that article. Not many would know but I've honestly waited all these years for a Parsons again. It's nearly been 17 yrs since my old male parson passed away. I have a massive indoor habitat all waiting for a parsons, like its been ready and functional since 2003. 8' long, 7' tall, 24" wide and all the bells and whistles.

So, hopefully a few small jeweled chams will be the start of something bigger.

Well, apparently the same people who are selling the campani are selling cbb parsons right now on kingsnake. They say they are European bred, but who knows. Maybe they do have documentation that says they are from Europe?

The shop is here in San Antonio if anyone would like for me to go by and check them out. Let me know...

Yes yes I saw that but there's no way I'm dropping $2500 on one

I don't think I've ever seen one for sale online (in the US) that was less than $2000. Unless they become available for export I don't think the price will be going down.

Yep, and since I've had a huge habitat waiting for ten years, I'm in no hurry. Maybe the little jewels will open the door for the Parson's.

The Furcifer campani are Wild Caught. Just new two year quotas, if I recall correctly. Kent's thread stated they under this current 250 Wild Caught quota are only going to be available through the 2013 year. Meaning they may not be available for long. I wish they used a couple other approaches.

The Parsonii have got CITES documents saying they are legal CB CITES from Europe. My new baby has got her paperwork framed above her enclosure. Although it took them forever to send it.

I yeah, I meant the Parsons are CB, not the campani. That's good that the parsons are actually CB though. With all the controversy about fake documents/illegally obtained animals and what not.

There are captive bred Parsonii out there and it seems adult animals that are producing babies that have been around from before 1995 (a well known facebook source though these Parsonii are being kept in Madagascar). However it is still a gamble and definitely a roll of the dice. The paper trails are critical to follow though.
